I do want this really bad and need it. I am a student worker and I do work with AutoCAD and other engineering programs I learned. . However, this is not related to my major

here is the invoice I received

The University of Houston Plant Operations Scholarship will be awarded to Plant Operations staff or an immediate family member who is enrolled at the UH-Central Campus. Plant Ops students workers may also apply for the scholarship, however staff and family members receive priority consideration. This fund was created in 2004 when UH hosted the TAPPA Conference and is the result of Plant Operation’s strong interest in training, development and continued education.

To apply for the award, applicants must submit an essay no later than 5PM on Friday, May 30, 2008.

Find out if there is a specific topic or prompt for the essay. These often change every year, so contact the office in charge of screening applications for the scholarship (probably UH Plant Operations or the UH Financial Aid office).

If no essay topic or prompt is given, then write an essay that conveys why you feel that your particular academic pursuits are meaningful and will allow you to make the world around you a better place.
